The Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. is broadening its move into cannabis by launching a new subsidiary that will allow the Ohio-based lawn and garden giant to invest in emerging areas of the marijuana industry.
Retail cannabis pricing isn’t a “set-it-and-forget-it” exercise.
“A pricing strategy must be agile because nobody has a crystal ball,” said Leandra Reid, co-founder of Toronto-based cannabis retail consultancy Vetrina Group. “We can’t know what the customer is willing to pay for a product until we put the product in and do some trials.”
Canadian marijuana producer Canopy Growth Corp. reported net revenue of 136.2 million Canadian dollars ($108.4 million) for the first quarter of its 2022 fiscal year, an 8.2% decline from the CA$148.4 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Marijuana industry special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Greenrose Acquisition Corp. said it has reached agreements for up to $103 million in funding from SunStream Bancorp.
