Ohio’s medical marijuana program just turned a corner as it moves toward a September launch.
The state’s MMJ production capacity ballooned Thursday when regulators licensed 12 large growers for up to 25,000 square feet of growing space each:
- Buckeye Relief (Eastlake)
- Grow Ohio Pharmaceuticals (Newton Township)
- OPC Cultivation (Huron)
- Riviera Creek Holdings (Youngstown)
- Pure Ohio Wellness (Springfield)
- Columbia Care OH (Mount Orab)
- Terradiol Ohio (Canton, Stark County)
- Standard Wellness Co. (Gibsonburg)
- AT-CPC of Ohio (Akron, Summit County)
- Cresco Labs Ohio (Yellow Springs)
- Parma Wellness Center (Parma)
- Harvest Grows (Cleveland and Hamilton Township)
Harvest Grows submitted applications for two locations and will have 10 days to choose one.
In addition to the large growers, the state on Thursday licensed another small cultivation company, Farkas Farms in Grafton, to fill its quota of 24 permits.
The cultivation companies have nine months to get up and running, and a state team must visit their facilities before receiving a certificate that allows them to grow.
