Details are starting to emerge about Michigan’s new medical marijuana licensing rules.
Michigan’s medical cannabis businesses will be allowed to grow, process and sell MMJ at the same location once a new statewide MMJ regulatory system is up and running, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs said Thursday.
Potential medical cannabis licensees who want to run vertically integrated businesses under one roof must have separate working areas, entrances and recordkeeping systems in place for each license, MLive.com reported.
The state’s new Medical Marihuana Licensing Board will begin accepting MMJ business license applications Dec. 15. Licenses are expected to be issued next spring.
In preparation for the new regulatory system, the state has told unlicensed MMJ businesses to close their doors by Dec. 15 or potentially hurt their licensing opportunities.
