Middlesex Integrative Medicine is joining forces with Full Moon Investments in a $12.5 million deal through which the private fund will take an equity stake in the Boston-based provider of medical cannabis.

The transaction provides Middlesex access to more capital to build out its cultivation and laboratory facilities as well as three planned dispensaries.

It also gives the medical marijuana provider access to industry expertise.

In addition to providing investments, North Carolina-based Full Moon is a fully integrated cannabis company with 300,000 square feet of indoor warehouse cultivation facilities, 124 acres of outdoor growing and 16 dispensaries operational or under construction.

“Full Moon not only provided the capital needed to support our large-scale medical marijuana operation but also provided a world of experience,” said Nancy Koury, president of Middlesex Integrative Medicine.

“This business is very complex, but having an educated partner like Full Moon has allowed for informed decision making and the avoidance of mistakes, which has been very valuable to our company.”
