Hawaii Gov. David Ige’s stay-at-home order designates licensed medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation centers as “essential” during the coronavirus outbreak. While the order stipulates that “all persons in the state must stay at home,” it makes an exception for employees of certain businesses, including licensed cannabis dispensaries. In other news, Aloha Green Holdings in Honolulu started producing hand sanitizer for medical patients to stop the spread of COVID-19. Illinois Adult-use cannabis stores in the state sold almost $110 million in products in the first quarter of 2020, state regulators said. Illinois marijuana retailers opened their doors to customers for the first time on Jan. 1. In March, stores sold 812,203 marijuana products for a total of $35.9 million, according to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations. The state’s recreational retailers made 75.5% of total sales to residents and the rest to out-of-state customers.
