Lady Chatterley will be integrated into ManifestSeven’s retail arm, Weden, which has storefront and delivery operations across California. The acquisition also gives M7 direct entry into the San Francisco market, in addition to licensed operations in Oakland and Brisbane. California Cultivator-Manufacturer Launches Facility New Tropic , a cannabis manufacturer based in Santa Rosa, California, launched a Type 7 manufacturing and co-packaging facility in the same town. The facility is in the process of attaining Current Good Manufacturing Practice certification and will produce bulk crude and distillate, flower and pre-rolls, edibles and beverages. The company also has closed more than $10 million in venture funding to date. Indoor Grow Solutions Company Acquires Rival Agrify , an indoor grow solutions business in Burlington, Massachusetts, completed its acquisition of all outstanding shares of TriGrow Systems and, indirectly, 75% of its TriGrow Brands subsidiary. TriGrow Brands is a majority-owned subsidiary of TriGrow Systems that licenses a portfolio of cannabis consumer brands, includingWestern Cultured, Dawg Star, Waxtronaut and Twisted Legion. Backed by Poseidon Asset Management and Arcadian Funds, among other investors, TriGrow is the exclusive distributor of Agrify’s fully automated, vertical-farming unit solution. Agrify said the deal bolsters its distribution and branding capabilities. NYC Biotech Holding Firm Takes Control of Dallas CBD Retailer NewYork City-based Amarantus BioScience Holdings , a biotechnology holding company pursuing proprietary therapeutics and diagnostics through its subsidiaries, acquired a controlling interest in Hempori , a CBD wellness retailer with two stores in Dallas and another online. Under the terms of the agreement, Amarantus issued 25 million of its shares to Hempori in exchange for 51%of the outstanding Hempori shares. Amarantus also was granted an option to acquire the remaining Hempori shares from existing shareholders until Dec. 31 for additional common stock of Amarantus, or of a successor entity in the event Amarantus is acquired before year-end 2020. Hempori, which generated more than $350,000 from its two storefronts in fiscal year 2019, also placed an initial purchase order for smokable hemp from Emerald Organic Products , an Amarantus partner. Amarantus plans to evaluate using smokable hemp products for cigarette smoking- cessation programs. Marketer Buys Compliance Firm for $10 Million Chicago-based Fyllo , a digital marketing firm that focuses on the cannabis industry, paid $10 million to CannaRegs , a Denver business that provides a web- subscription service and technology platform that offers access to state and municipal cannabis rules and regulations. Amanda Ostrowitz, CannaRegs’ founder and CEO, will join Fyllo as its chief strategy officer. Major Mainstream Advisory Firm Launches MJ Arm BPCM , a major advisory and communications agency focusing on luxury, fashion, sustainability, beauty, travel, wine and spirits sectors, launched a cannabis division. The division will be focused on advising and educating brands on how to position their products for today’s lifestyle consumers as well as offer BPCM’s core services such as multifaceted communication strategies, event management, celebrity and influencer engagement and digital services. BPCM has offices in New York, Los Angeles and London. Michigan Dispensary Wins Mainstream Design Award Flint, Michigan-based dispensary Common Citizen won a Gold Award for retail design from the International Council for Shopping Centers, a worldwide trade group for the shopping center and retail real estate sector. The award is the first the ICSC has bestowed upon a cannabis retailer. The ICSC has more than 63,000 members in more than 100 countries. MJBizDaily Acquires Major MJ Science Conference Marijuana Business Dail y acquired The Emerald Conference , a science-focused convention and trade show for the cannabis industry, from Emerald Scientific . Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed. Emerald Scientific, headquartered in San Luis Obispo, California, distributes scientific equipment and supplies exclusively to the cannabis industry. The
