The state Bureau of Cannabis Control and officers from the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Cannabis Enforcement Unit served 24 warrants and seized $8.8 million in illicit marijuana products, including almost 10,000 vape pens and more than $128,000 in cash. Colorado State regulators have prohibited vitamin E acetate, polyethylene glycol and medium-chain triglycerides in the manufacture of marijuana concentrate or products intended for vaporization. Additionally, laws went into effect in early January stating that, contingent on local approvals: • Licenses can be issued for “marijuana hospitality establishments” such as cannabis cafes, dispensary tasting rooms, marijuana bus tours and designated areas of hotels. • Permits can be issued for medical marijuana delivery, with retail cannabis distribution slated to begin in 2021. Florida Make It Legal Florida withdrew its bid to put an initiative on the 2020 ballot to legalize recreational marijuana after suing the state in an effort to get more time to submit signatures. The group argued the process essentially established a “stealth deadline” for submitting the 766,200 signatures required for a ballot measure. Make It Legal Florida plans to resume its push for adult-use legalization in 2022. Georgia A new state board is working to create rules and a distribution network for the sale of medical marijuana oil. The Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission held its first meeting and is seeking ways to manufacture or import medical marijuana oil for the state’s s nearly 14,000 registered medical marijuana patients.
