The application deadline was Dec. 2. The law calls for: • Eight licenses to be issued in a first phase. • Six licenses to be issued in a second phase. • The entire licensing process to be completed by July 1. Utah has been divided into four geographic regions, with each region having at least one dispensary. In July, regulators selected eight applicants to grow medical marijuana. Washington state State regulators banned the sale and distribution of any products containing vitamin E acetate, an additive in some cannabis vaping products identified as a likely culprit in the vaping health crisis. The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board along with the health department recently asked cannabis companies to voluntarily stop making products containing vitamin E acetate. The ban on production and distribution will now be mandatory. Wisconsin More than half theWisconsin vape products the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tested in its investigation into vaping illnesses contained THC. Wisconsin does not have a full-strength medical marijuana program, but it was the first state to disclose test results of vape products under investigation after the nationwide health outbreak. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that many of the people sickened by vape products inWisconsin said they used marijuana from the illicit market, not licensed cannabis companies. Of those vape products containing THC, two-thirds also contained vitamin E acetate, an additive and cutting agent used in vape cartridges.
