His decision followed months of internal research and discussions with fellow law enforcement officials. Lt. Gov. John Fetterman and Auditor General Eugene DePasquale also are in support of the idea. Pennsylvania law doesn’t allow voter-initiated referendums, so legalization would have to occur by passing a bill in the state Legislature. Utah State officials are considering a proposal that would charge medical marijuana dispensaries between $50,000 and $69,500 each year in operating fees, placing an unexpectedly high financial burden on future MMJ businesses. Dispensary operating fees would depend on the facility’s location and whether it offers home delivery. The state’s health department plans to refine the proposal based on feedback.
