Marijuana Business Magazine | November-December 2019 36 State News Industry Developments | International & State Alaska Anchorage voters will decide April 7 whether to allow cannabis smoking in retail locations throughout the city. If the ballot measure is approved, smoking mar- ijuana in a store would be heavily regulated and take place in areas apart from employees and other retail customers. The Anchorage Assembly voted 7-4 to let voters decide next year the fate of on-site consumption of cannabis. Last July, regulators turned down a request from a cannabis retailer that applied to be the first in Anchorage to offer on-site consumption. Arizona Law enforcement authorities discovered about 1,100 packaged vape cartridges “associated with recent vaping deaths” in a raid of a suspected marijuana and THC vape cartridge operation in north Phoenix. The vape cartridges were being manufactured in a home that was raided in September, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office. In total, detectives from the sheriff’s office seized more than $380,000 worth of drugs, firearms and cash. Products confis- cated were packaged as Weedos, Sour Dab Kids and Weed Thins.
