Previously, she served as a quality assurance technician for Nutiva, which specializes in super- foods and hemp products. Sysamone Phaphon, head of growth: Prior to Vertosa, Phaphon was head of growth and partnerships for Better, which helps patients receive reimbursements from insurance payors for out-of-network claims. She also founded the agency FilmHero, where she worked with award-winning filmmakers to help magnify their films’ social impact. Paulo Sobral, senior account executive: Sobral is a former sales manager for San Francisco-based Bloom Farms and most recently worked as a senior account exec- utive for ZeroCater, a software company and leading provider of corporate food programs. He also managed key accounts at Pepsi for nearly six years. SOL Shakeup SOL Global, a cannabis- focused investment firm in Toronto, announced that Andy DeFrancesco will step down from his role as chairman and chief investment officer to take on a new post leading SOL Investment Group, a new, independent investment company. SOL Global CEO Brady Cobb will become interim chair of the company. Former NYSE Advisory Board Member Joins True Leaf Board True Leaf Brands, a CBD company in British Columbia, appointed Mike Mardy , CPA, to its board of directors as an independent member. Mardy most recently served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and a director of Tumi Holdings, a retailer of luggage and travel accessories. Prior to joining Tumi, Mardy served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Keystone Foods, a global food products manufacturer. He previously held senior-level financial positions with Nabisco and currently serves as a director of fashion retail brands Vince Holdings and Lulus.com. He also previously served on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Advisory Board. CBD Company Gets Fortune 1000 Vet CV Sciences, a California-based CBD manufacturing business, appointed Terri Funk Graham to its board of directors. She is currently an independent board director for Sprouts Farmers Market, a $5 billion specialty retailer of natural and organic food focusing on health and wellness, where she serves as the chairperson of the nominating and corporate governance committee and serves on the compensation committee. Graham is also an independent board director for Lumber Liquidators, a $1 billion specialty retailer of hard-surface flooring, where she serves as the chairperson of the nominating and corporate governance committee and as a member of the compensation committee. She also spent 20 years with the Jack in the Box brand, including 10 years as senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Jack in the Box, a role in which she won 10 Effie Awards and several Belding and Clio Awards for her marketing campaigns. Flowr Taps Tech Guru The Flowr Corp., a Toronto-based cannabis company with operations in Canada, Europe and Australia, has hired Ivan Latysh as chief technology officer. Latysh most recently served as vice president- information technology at MedReleaf Corp., a Canadian license holder. Before MedReleaf, Latysh held increasingly senior positions across a variety of industries, including director of technology at Sapient Nitro, principal software engineer at Infor and chief technology officer at Refined Data Solutions, a digital technology agency that provided information technology solutions to a variety of consumer-facing companies. The company also appointed Laurence Levi and Francesco Tallarico to the roles of chief strat- egy officer and chief legal officer, respectively.
