Marijuana Business Magazine October 2019
Marijuana Business Magazine | October 2019 38 Oklahoma State regulators approved more than 7,300 business licenses in the first year of the state’s high-flying medical cannabis program, including nearly 4,300 grower permits, according to recently released figures. The state also opened up applications for a new stand-alone license category: transporter. Previously, only licensed growers, processors or dispensaries could receive a transporter permit. Oregon U.S. Senior District Judge Anna Brown found that Momtazi Vineyard has legal standing to pursue a case under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) act. Brown said the vineyard plausibly claimed that it suffered a “concrete financial loss” because a customer canceled an order over fears the grapes were contaminated with the smell of marijuana. Defendants Mary and Steven Wagner and son Richard argued that Momtazi’s allegations weren’t “concrete” damages caused by a RICO violation. Industry Developments | International & State
