Company News | U.S. & Canada Leaf Data Systems Selected Utah tapped Leaf Data Systems for the state’s medical cannabis seed-to-sale traceability program. Leaf Data is a product of Denver-based technology provider Akerna , which is the new company formed by the merger of MJ Freeway and MTech, a special- purpose acquisition company. Leaf Data Systems also serves as the state track-and-trace system for Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program and Washington state’s recreational cannabis market. Wise Health Solutions Snags Missouri License Contract Wise Heath Solutions , a Missouri company, won a one-year contract estimated at $517,319 to review and score the medical marijuana business applications in the state. Based in Jefferson City, Wise is a joint venture between Nevada-based firmVeracious Investigative and Compliance Solutions of Nevada as well as cannabis college Oaksterdam University in Oakland, California, according to news reports. Wise expects to review as many as 2,000 applications and will be charging the following for each type of application: $940 for dispensary, $948 for processor, $943 for grower and $1,172 for testing lab. The company won’t be able to see the name of the applicant or its owners when evaluating applications. Thar Process Announces Venture With PSC Group Thar Process of Pittsburgh announced that it has entered into a joint venture agreement with PSC Group , a Colorado-based seed-to-product company, to develop a certified cGMP, CO 2 extraction/ purification facility capable of producing 5 tons of solvent-free extract per day in Pueblo, Colorado. The new alliance, Thar Extractions Colorado, has already begun procuring equipment for the facility, which is expected to open in November.
