Michelle Lujan Grisham’s administration is challenging a recent judge’s ruling to open the state’s medical marijuana market to qualified nonresidents. The gover- nor’s legal office argued in a court motion that the ruling raises significant issues, such as possibly encouraging the transport of MMJ products across state lines. Grisham also appointed a bipartisan group to study the legalization of recreational marijuana. The Marijuana Policy Project views New Mexico as one of the more promising states to legalize recreational marijuana in the next couple of years. Ohio The state’s fledgling medical marijuana market was dealt a blow when an expert panel rescinded its recommendation to approve anxiety and autism as qualifying conditions. Earlier this summer, the panel rejected depression, insomnia and opioid addiction as qualifying conditions. The full state medical board is likely to vote on the panel’s recommendation at its Sept. 11 meeting.
