Ontario Pols Join British Columbia Board Vancouver, British Columbia-based ParcelPal, a delivery company break- ing into cannabis, has tapped two conservative politicians from Ontario for its board of directors: federal rep- resentative Ben Lobb and Parm Gill , a member of the Ontario Legislative Assembly. Lobb is a member of the Conservative Party; Gill is a Progres- sive Conservative. Lobb and Gill will receive a small amount of options for their roles on the advisory board. No other compensation is being offered, according to the company.  Board Appointment Gives Extractor International Launchpad Halo Labs, a Toronto-based extraction and concentrates company operating in California, Nevada and Oregon, appointed Louisa Mojela as board chair after acquiring Bophelo Bioscience & Wellness, a South African company where Mojela also served as board chair. Mojela, a citizen of Lesotho, has led capital raises and held directorships at large public companies such as Sasol Mining, Ixia Coal, South African Airways, Ericsson SA, Adcorp and Sun International, among others. In 2016, CNBC gave Mojela an All Africa Business Leaders award. Former U.S. Congressman to Advise Two Cannabis Businesses Ex-U.S. Congressman Dana Rohra- bacher , a Republican from California, will advise two cannabis companies, BudTrader.com and PharmaCielo. The former is a cannabis-focused, goods-exchange platform; the latter is the Canadian parent of a Colom- bian producer of medical cannabis oil, PharmaCielo Colombia Holdings. In 2014, Rohrabacher co-intro- duced the Rohrabacher–Farr Amend- ment, which has been credited with allowing state-legal medical cannabis businesses to operate without fear of federal interference. CBD Company Makes Wright Hire Vitalibis, a technology-based formulator of hemp-based wellness products, appointed football legend Eric Wright as a founding ambassador for its hemp- based wellness products to the professional sports community and fans. Wright played with the NFL's San Francisco 49ers from 1981 until 1990, becoming a four-time Super Bowl champion and two-time All-Pro selection. Wright now serves as an alumni coordinator for the 49ers and plays an active role in the NFL’s concussion protocol program. FSD Farma Moves FSD Farma appointed Dr. Edward Brennan as president of its biosciences division. As medical director with Wyeth-Ayerst Research and GlaxoSmithKline, he managed multiple drug trials, taking several new compounds to regulatory approval. He also founded IndiPharm, a full-service global contract research company that was bought by Velocity Fund Partners, a private equity fund. FSD also appointed James Datin and Robert Ciaruffoli  to its board of directors. Datin is CEO of BioAgilytix, a global bioanalytical contract research firm that helps develop therapeutic biologics. Ciaruffoli is a co-founder and vice chair of Broad Street Angels, a 100-member, Phila- delphia-based angel investor network that invests in startup businesses with high growth potential. British Columbia Cannabis Firm Gets New President Valens GroWorks, a company in Kelowna, British Columbia, that focuses on various proprietary extraction methods, including distillation, cannabinoid isolation and purification, product formulation and development, appointed Jeffrey Fallows as president. Before joining Valens, Fallows was a managing director at AltaCorp Capital, where he led the life sciences and diversified industries investment banking teams. New Mexico Cannabis Chamber Gets New Leader The New Mexico Cannabis Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director, Ben Lewinger . The previous director, Vince Galbiati , spent one year in the job but left to become executive director of the Domestic Violence Resource Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lewinger most recently founded his own communications firm and also served as executive director of the New Mexico chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
