July 2019 | mjbizdaily.com 31 Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a bill that opens the state’s cannabis industry to outside investors. The law is expected to bring new cash flow into Colorado as well as marijuana products from companies that previously were unable to do business in the state. Polis’ predecessor, John Hickenlooper, vetoed a similar bill. Polis also signed a measure allowing marijuana retailers to apply for a limited consumption license beginning in January 2020. Connecticut The General Assembly’s Judiciary Committee voted 21-19 in favor of a bill that outlines how marijuana use and sales would be legalized for those 21 and older. However, the legislation was tabled for the calendar year. Proponents expect the measure and several other cannabis bills to eventually be included in one bill for the full Legislature to consider.
