Colorado Hemp Grower Makes Hire Veritas Farms, a vertically integrated agribusiness producing full- spectrum hemp extracts with naturally occurring cannabinoids, hired Spencer Fuller as vice president of agriculture. Before Veritas Farms, Fuller was an independent consultant to cannabis growers. From June 2017 to November 2018, he served as director of crop production for Dalwhinnie Farms, a cannabis grower in Ridgway, Colorado, and from March 2014 to November 2018, he was affiliated with Shift Cannabis in Boulder, Colorado, where he advised clients on starting grow operations. Latin American Player Adds Five Executives Khiron Life Sciences—an integrated medical cannabis company with core operations in Colombia—added four executives to strengthen its market reach in Mexico and Chile and imple- ment its joint venture initiative with Dixie Brands. John Cooke joins as vice president of corporate development. His past positions include managing director and partner at Beacon Securities, a Toronto investment firm, and senior managing partner at Paradigm Capi- tal, an investment firm headquartered in Albany, New York. Luis Chaves becomes country manager-Mexico. He has worked with global pharma brands active in the region and served as a business unit head for Novartis Mexico. Rodrigo Azócar becomes country manager-Chile. He is a current member of the board of ASILFSA, the Chile-based industrial association of pharmaceutical laboratories. Rodrigo Durán will lead the Dixie Brands joint venture. As consumer brands director for Team Foods, a Colombia-based food products company, he was responsible for $70 million in U.S. sales through retail and digital channels. Khiron also appointed Larry Holifield as security and compliance director-Mexico. He is a former senior executive with the U.S. Drug Enforce- ment Administration responsible for Mexico and Central America. Harvest One Hires One Person for Two Posts Harvest One Cannabis, a global marijuana company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, recruited Deb Milimaka Miles as its new chief administrative officer and chief people officer. Milimaka Miles has held executive HR positions at Loblaw, Canada’s biggest food retailer, and Smart Technologies, a Calgary developer of interactive whiteboards. Changes in Organigram’s Executive Team Organigram Holdings, a New Brun- swick-based marijuana producer, hired strategy and operations consultant James Cavanagh as its new chief of staff. Cavanaugh was previously with PricewaterhouseCoopers, the inter- national business advisory firm where he oversaw the design and implemen- tation plan of global manufacturing, corporate and sales processes. Mike Tripp , Organigram’s chief legal officer, and Guillermo Delmonte , president of its international division, both left to pursue other opportunities. Helen Martin , who joined Organigram last November and was recently appointed corporate secretary, steps up again—this time to senior vice president of strategic and legal affairs. Aleafia Selects Independent Director Toronto-based Aleafia Health, a ver- tically integrated cannabis business, appointed Loreto Grimaldi as lead independent director of the compa- ny’s board of directors. The role will rotate among independent directors every six months, as determined peri- odically by a majority of the compa- ny’s independent directors. Grimaldi is currently on Aleafia’s governance committee and compensation and human resources committee, and he was previously an independent direc- tor of Emblem Corp., the cannabis company that Aleafia acquired late last year. Grimaldi is licensed to prac- tice law in New York state and Ontario. Neptune Lands Strategy and Science Officers Neptune Wellness Solutions, a Quebec cannabis processing company, appointed Martin Landry to the position of chief of corporate development and strategy. Landry most recently was managing director of equity research at GMP Securities, where he developed an extensive cannabis industry network. Neptune also has a new chief scientific officer: Dr. Graham Wood . He most recently served as chief research and development officer at Altasciences, a Quebec bio pharmaceutical services company. As CSO, Wood will lead Neptune’s research and development strategy, product development efforts, clinical programs, global regulatory strategy, health product delivery technologies and intellectual property portfolio.
