CannTrust Makes Move For $525 Million Raise Ontario-based cannabis producer CannTrust Holdings has laid the groundwork to raise up to $525 million (CA$700 million) by filing a base-level prospectus with Canadian securities agencies and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. When finalized, the filing will allow the company to offer debt securities, warrants, subscription receipts and units or common shares for a 25-month period. The net proceeds can be used to fund ongoing operations and/or working capital requirements, to repay indebtedness from time to time, capital projects and potential future acquisitions, including international expansion. CannTrust said the specific terms of any future offering—including the use of proceeds—will be disclosed in a prospectus supplement. Canopy Extraction Partnership Canopy Growth in Smiths Falls, Ontario, and HollyWeed Manufacturing & Extracts in Victoria, British Columbia, have entered into a multiyear processing and extraction agreement. HollyWeed North Cannabis, the parent company of HollyWeed Manufacturing & Extracts, operates several subsidiaries specializing in the growth, manufacturing, licensing and production of cannabis and other pharmaceutical-grade products. Under the terms of the two-year agreement, HollyWeed will process dried cannabis provided by Canopy Growth and will return the high-quality oil and resin back to the company.
