At Wana, Craven’s responsibilities include financial strategy, managing financial controls and accounting procedures, ensuring full transparency over the financial performance of the company and providing advice about how to increase revenue and reduce costs. Supreme Appointments Supreme Cannabis in Ontario, Canada, appointed Nikhil Handa as its new chief financial officer and Kenneth R. McKinnon as independent director on the company’s board of directors. Handa will be responsible for Supreme’s finance department, with an emphasis on capital allocation planning, M&A and transactional exe- cution. Handa most recently served as vice president of finance at Well.ca, an online wellness destination, and has held a variety of senior finance and operational roles at Restaurant Brands International, a fast food hold- ing company created by the merger of Burger King and Tim Hortons and majority owned by 3G Capital. Current chief financial officer, Dimitre Naoumov , becomes Supreme's vice president of finance. McKinnon is an energy industry veteran who is currently a partner at Citrus Capital Partners in Calgary and serves on the board of Touchstone Exploration and Alvopetro Energy, both Calgary-based energy companies. Morgan Stanley Exec Links With Toronto Trading Firm Vinzan International, a Toronto-based cannabis trading company, appointed Morgan Stanley veteran Donald Stewart as chief financial officer. From 2007 to 2019, Stewart was an executive director at Morgan Stanley Canada, where he was responsible for executing equities trades across global markets for some of the largest asset managers in Canada, including major pension and mutual funds. Vinzan said it is building food- and pharmaceutical-grade extraction facilities in Colombia, Laos and Thailand and has 280,000 kilograms of THC/CBD production allocated through multiyear supply agreements with international partners. SodaStream CEO Joins Cannabis Tech Firm Daniel Birnbaum , CEO of at-home carbonated drink maker SodaS- tream, which PepsiCo acquired last year for $3.2 billion, joined the board of Israeli company Seedo. The company makes agriculture technology for the production of pesticide-free crops, including mari- juana and hemp, and trades on over- the-counter markets as SEDO. Birnbaum reportedly invested roughly $550,000 (about 2 million Israeli shekels) in Seedo and is also an investor in Tel Aviv-based Cannabics Pharmaceuticals, which works on cannabinoid-based therapies for cancer patients. CBD Manufacturer Taps Dietary Supplement Expert CV Sciences, a San Diego CBD manufacturer, has lured Douglas MacKay , former vice president with the Council for Responsible Nutrition, to be its senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs. In that role, he will oversee CV Sciences’ research and regulatory compliance efforts as well as hemp- based CBD product development. The Council for Responsible Nutrition is a trade association representing dietary supplement and functional food manufacturers and ingredients suppliers.  Attorney Returns to Former Firm to Lead Cannabis Practice Reed Smith, an international law firm based in San Fran- cisco, welcomed back attorney Marc Hauser , who will serve as co-vice chair of its cannabis law team and counsel in the global corporate group. Hauser most recently led the cannabis practice at GVM Law in Napa Valley and spent 15 years as in-house deal counsel at Equity Group Investments, a Chicago firm founded by investor Sam Zell. Earlier in his career, Hauser worked at Chicago-based Sachnoff & Weaver, which later merged with Reed Smith.
