California Business Grows Sales Team Calyx Peak, a Los Angeles-based marijuana business with operations in four states, hired Michelle Magallon as its vice president of sales. Previously, Magallon was the general manager of Bud & Bloom, a dispensary in Santa Ana, California. Magallon created Bud & Bloom’s “Cannabus” service which brings seniors from Laguna to the dispensary once a month. She also worked as a sales executive for IBM. New California Cannabis Firm Hires Ex-MedMen Executive Lauren Carpenter departed her post as director of government affairs for Western states at MedMen, a multistate marijuana firm, to become chief strategy officer at Sweet Flower, which plans to roll out multiple recre- ational cannabis stores in California this year. Both Sweet Flower and MedMen are based in Culver City, California. Carpenter began her career working on legislative and ballot initiatives in California before joining Sacramento-based Wilson Public Affairs, where she managed policy, public affairs and government relations campaigns for trade associations and Fortune 500 clients. Ex-chief of Ohio MMJ Program Joins Cultivator Justin Hunt , the former chief operating officer of the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, is now the executive vice president for Grow Ohio Pharmaceuticals, a large-scale marijuana cultivator and processor outside Zanesville, Ohio. Hunt is the first person to leave the Ohio agency’s medical marijuana pro- gram to work in the industry.
