Carmen Lam , who previously served as regional sales director, will be promoted to senior vice president of Kush Supply Co. Golden Leaf Gets New CFO Golden Leaf Holdings, a cannabis oil company with headquarters in Portland, Oregon, appointed Karyn O. Barsa as its new chief financial officer. Barsa will lead Golden Leaf’s financial operations and be respon- sible for managing liquidity, balance sheet risk and capital market transac- tions. She will report directly to CEO William Kulczycki. Barsa has held executive posts at multimillion- and multibillion-dollar privately held and public companies across consumer products, financial services and other industries, includ- ing Deckers Outdoor, Performance Sports Group, Coyuchi, Investors Circle, Smith & Hawken and Patago- nia. Barsa worked with Kulczycki for about four years at Patagonia, where he served as vice president of sales, marketing and product development, while she was chief financial officer and chief operating officer. MJardin Taps New CEO The board of directors at MJardin Group—which operates cultivation facilities across the United States and Canada—appointed Adrian T. Montgomery as chair of the board of directors and interim CEO; it also appointed Lorne Sugarman to the board. The previous CEO, Rishi Gautam, will remain on the board of directors and will continue to help with the business’ direction. Montgomery has been a senior officer and director of several public and private companies in the fields of media, sports and entertainment, finance and industrial services. He is the former president of Tuckamore Capital Management, an Ontario-based conglomerate with annual revenue of more than $700million. He also served as CEO of QM Environmental, one of Canada’s largest contracting companies. Sugarman is currently a principal at KES 7 Capital and executive chair of Wellpoint Health. Previously, he was the CEO of Wellpoint for six years, and before that, he was a managing direc- tor of investment banking at GMP Securities, one of Canada’s largest independent investment banks. Standard Hire Pennsylvania-based ASTM Interna- tional, a testing-standards group formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, hired Charles P. Rutherford II , an independent lobbyist and govern- ment relations expert in Minnesota, as a technical consultant to support standards development and related activities for the organization’s can- nabis committee. New President for Indus Joe Bayern was appointed president of Indus Holding, a vertically integrated cannabis company in Salinas, California. Bayern will oversee day-to-day operation of Indus, reporting to founder and CEO Robert Weakley and the organization’s board of directors. Bayern was previously CEO of Norwegian beverage company Voss, where he nearly quadrupled sales and positioned the firm as a globally recognized brand. Previously, he worked as senior vice president and managing director for Author Solutions, a large self-publishing company. He also held executive posts at the Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Cadbury. New COO for Green Growth Green Growth Brands, a multistate cannabis company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, hired real estate, finance and store operations expert Randy Whitaker as chief operating officer, a new post in the firm. Whitaker joins from Belk, a privately held department store with nearly 300 locations, where he was executive vice president and chief stores officer. Before Belk, Whitaker spent more than 15 years at Victoria’s Secret in a variety of real estate and stores operations positions. Amazon, Facebook Exec Joins Cannabis-Delivery Firm San Diego-based Driven Deliveries, a publicly traded cannabis delivery company, added supply-chain expert Jerrin James as chief operating officer. James previously served as head of logistics at Facebook and has led operations, supply chain and logistics at Amazon, Groupon and others. Driven currently operates in Arizona, California, Michigan and Nevada.
