Leafly Lands Amazon Vet Leafly, the Seattle-based marijuana website, hired a new CEO after a half- year search. The company tapped Tim Leslie , a 20-year veteran of Amazon. Leslie started at Amazon in 1999 as vice president and associate general counsel responsible for worldwide retail. In 2013, he joined the Amazon Prime Video business as the managing director of LoveFilm, a United King- dom and German video streaming and DVD rental business acquired by Amazon. Leslie managed LoveFilm, integrating it into Amazon, rebrand- ing LoveFilm as Prime Video and launching Prime Video in the U.K. and Germany. He completed that task in February 2014 and later led the launch of Prime Video globally in 2016. Leslie replaces Chris Jeffery , whom Leafly let go last September because of “management concerns.” Screen Time for Kush Prelude to a documentary? Danny Moses serves on the investment committee of Merida Capital Partners, a private equity fund targeting the cannabis industry. He is better known for his role as a trader navigating the global financial crisis as chronicled in Michael Lewis’ best-selling novel, “The Big Short,” and Adam McKay’s movie of the same name, which won the 2016 Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Moses recently founded Moses Ven- tures, a multi-asset investment fund with a focus on cannabis, which he refers to as “The Big Long.” Tim Seymour is chief investment officer of Seymour Asset Management and co-host of CNBC’s “Fast Money.” He has 22-plus years of investment experience as a capital markets professional across multiple asset classes and geographies.
