Arizona The state Supreme Court will rule on whether medical marijuana extracts are legal to sell and possess, giving hope to the state’s MMJ businesses that they’ll be allowed to manufacture and peddle infused cannabis products without fear of legal repercussions. The state’s Court of Appeals ruled in June that cannabis resin containing THC and products made with it were not protected under the 2010 Arizona Medical Marijuana Act. If the state Supreme Court decides extracts aren’t illegal, dispensaries will be able to sell products such as vape cartridges, edibles and concentrates. It will likely be several months before the high court makes a ruling. Arkansas The first medical marijuana cultivator put plants in the ground in mid-January, and dispensaries are expected to have product on the shelves by April. All five state-approved medical cannabis grower sites are being built out, and Arkansas issued its first 32 licenses for businesses to sell medical marijuana in the state. State voters approved the medical marijuana program in 2016.
