New Mexico The state’s Medical Cannabis Advisory Board was forced to cancel its first meeting of 2018 because it lacked a quorum, dealing a further blow to efforts to expand New Mexico’s list of qualifying conditions for MMJ. The board holds two meetings each year to consider recommending changes to the state’s medical cannabis program, and three members are needed for a quorum. Another meeting is scheduled for Sept. 7 in Santa Fe. North Dakota The state health department hopes to have medical marijuana available by the end of the year in North Dakota's two largest cities, Bismarck and Fargo, though questions remain about how quickly manufacturing facilities will be up and running. Though state voters approved the legaliza- tion of MMJ in November 2016, the health department has endured some criticism about the amount of time it is tak- ing to make products available. North Dakota’s timeline isn’t that unusual compared to other states that have legalized MMJ. Recent delays revolve around the approval of cultiva- tion/manufacturing facilities.
