Hawaii Changes to Hawaii’s medical marijuana laws will allow dispensaries to sell cannabis to registered MMJ cardhold- ers from any U.S. state, a move that could significantly boost sales, given the droves of tourists that visit annually. Beginning next year, visitors to the Aloha State registered with the medical cannabis program in their home state will be able to purchase a Hawaii MMJ registration card for $45 that will be valid for 60 days. The state’s health department is predicting roughly 5,000 tourists will buy Hawaii registra- tion cards the first year, with as many as 30,000 per year at peak numbers. Maryland Medical cannabis sales in the state are heading toward $100 million in their first year, with Baltimore and Montgom- ery counties among the strongest markets. To help keep up with demand, the state approved licenses for eight new dispensaries. The move will bring the number of retailers in Maryland to 65.
