California The state’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) issued a memo spelling out its stance that cannabis- infused alcoholic beverages of any stripe – whether infused with THC, CBD or other cannabinoids – are prohibited. The ABC’s memo also reminded restaurant and bar owners that they’re further prohibited from allowing consumption onsite and aren’t allowed to sell alcohol and cannabis at the same location. The one bright spot for business owners: There’s nothing prohibiting a California company from owning both a bar and a marijuana business; they just can’t comingle. Colorado State authorities in July shut down three Sweet Leaf stores in the Denver suburbs for alleged violations, the latest twist in the downfall of one of Colorado’s largest marijuana retailers. Sweet Leaf’s marijuana licenses were suspended for locations in the Denver suburbs of Aurora, Thornton and Federal Heights, a spokesperson for Colorado’s Marijuana Enforcement Division said. The agency declined to disclose the specific violation that led to the dispensary closings, citing an ongoing investigation. In July, the city of Denver revoked all 26 of Sweet Leaf’s municipal marijuana licenses because of a sales scheme that allegedly allowed customers to buy cannabis multiple times per day. / LEON ® / LED / NEON / NON-ILLUMINATED / CHALKBOARDS / PRODUCT DISPLAYS / TACKERS / 3 0 3 - 6 6 6 - 9 4 0 0 STAND OUT.
