Michigan Michigan regulators added 11 new ailments to the list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana, poten- tially giving a big boost to a market that is already home to one of the largest MMJ patient pools in the country. The new conditions are: arthritis, autism, chronic pain, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, obsessive compul- sive disorder, Parkinson’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal cord injury, Tourette syndrome and ulcerative colitis. Chronic pain in particular is typically a major driver of patient registrations in states with legal medi- cal cannabis markets. Nevada The state Interim Finance Committee approved an additional $1.5 million for the Department of Taxation to hire more security guards and staff to process back- ground checks for workers at marijuana facilities. Regu- lators say they are trying to keep up with demand at recreational dispensaries, where sales have surpassed projections every month since rec sales became legal in July 2017. Taxation Director Bill Anderson told the Interim Finance Committee the workload is severely straining existing staff. Taxes on medicinal and recreational mari- juana in the first nine months totaled $49 million. INTRODUCING THE BUD GOBLET ™ Frosted Sativa Indica Hybrid Now Available! PATENT PENDING
