NCIA Board Vote The National Cannabis Industry Association in Wash- ington DC announced its new board of directors. Mem- bers elected six incumbents and three new members. The incumbents are: • Troy Dayton , The Arcview Group • Etienne Fontan , Berkeley Patients Group • Aaron Justis , Buds & Roses • Kris Krane , 4Front Ventures • Jaime Lewis , Coldwater Consulting • Ean Seeb , Manna Molecular The new members are: • Mark Passerini , Om of Medicine • Michael Steinmetz , Flow Kana • Taylor West , Cohnnabis. West is a former NCIA deputy director. Würk Hires Denver-based Würk, a human resources management software provider for the cannabis industry, hired three new executives. • The new chief technology officer is Ken Haigh , who joins from Radio- active.io , a provider of products and services that helps organiza- tions with business planning and execution, where he was founder and president. He will be responsi- ble for Würk’s overall product and platform strategy. • The new chief operating officer is Rick Nichols , who has worked at “human capital companies” such as PeopleSoft, SAP and PeopleMatter. He most recently served as managing partner at TechCXO, an executive profes- sional services firm. He will be responsible for marketing, sales and customer success. • Greg Adamietz will spearhead the company’s sales growth and busi- ness development as vice president of sales for Würk. Adamietz most recently led the sales, services and partners teams at Rapt Media. Before becoming Roots’ chief financial officer (CFO) in 2016, Rudyk served as CFO of Shred-It International from 2009 to 2015. In that role, he helped the company grow from approximately $200 million in revenue to more than $700 million in revenue and expand to more than 17 countries. FSD Pharma Appoints Chief Commercial Officer Toronto-based FSD Pharma has appointed Michael Ash as chief commercial officer of FV Pharma, a licensed can- nabis producer in Ontario that is a wholly owned subsidiary. Ash has worked in the vitamin and drug sector since 1984, most recently as president of Pharmetics in Laval, Quebec. Neuroscientist at Biotech Firm Dr. Michele Ross , a neurosci- entist, joined the advisory board for NanoSphere Health Sciences, a biotech firm that manufactures unique cannabis-delivery systems and has offices in Colorado and Brit- ish Columbia. Ross is founder and executive director of IMPACT Net- work, a nonprofit that focuses on cannabis and women’s health, and CEO of Infused Health, a digital platform that provides educational resources to cannabis patients. In her new role, Ross will help with product development and strategy. Tvert Back At MPP The Marijuana Policy Project in Washington DC retained Mason Tvert of VS Strategies to serve as its national spokesman and coordi- nate media relations in support of its state and federal advocacy efforts. Tvert initially joined MPP in 2012 to co-direct its legalization campaign in Colorado, then served as communications direc- tor from 2013 to 2017, during which time he worked on several successful ballot initiatives and legislative efforts. Tvert left MPP in July 2017 to become a partner and vice president of communications at VS Strategies, a Denver- based public affairs firm specializing in marijuana policy and the legal cannabis industry.
