She was most recently a partner at Fasken, a law firm where her practice focused on the life sciences industry, advised on intellectual property matters, regulated products under the Food and Drugs Act and provided transactional support. • Gregg Battersby, Aphria’s director of operational logistics, was promoted to vice president of com- mercial strategy. Battersby joined Aphria in 2015 as controller and previously worked in the finance department at Jamieson Laboratories. • Michelle Latinsky joins Aphria as the company’s director of education and training, based in Toronto. Latinsky is an award-winning dietitian and most recently served as manager of nutrition education at Jamieson Laboratories, an Ontario maker and dis- tributor of natural health solutions. • Jamie Policella joined Aphria as director of informa- tion technology and consulting, most recently serving as general manager of applied computer solutions. Post-Merger Turnover After Saskatoon-based CanniMed merged with Edmon- ton-based Aurora Cannabis, Brent Zettl resigned as CanniMed CEO to pursue other opportunities. Zettl agreed to remain available to CanniMed and Aurora in an advisory capacity to assist during the integration period. André Jérôme was appointed interim CEO of Canni- Med. Jérôme served as senior vice president of business integration at Aurora, where he was responsible for the integration of acquisitions and was already working on CanniMed’s integration with Aurora. Jérôme previously was CEO and co-founder of H2 Biopharma, a Quebec- based firm that was in the application process for a cultivation license when it was acquired by Aurora in December 2017. Grower Expands Staff The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings, a marijuana grower in Hamilton, Ontario, made several recent key hires: • Brian Athaide joined as chief financial officer. His past posts include CFO and executive vice presi- dent of human resources and IT at Andrew Peller, the largest publicly traded wine and craft alcohol producer in Canada. • New general counsel Anna Stewart most recently was assistant general counsel at the Canadian division of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, a global pharmaceutical company, where she advised on risk mitigation, compliance and corporate strategic initiatives. • Andrew Pollock, vice president of marketing, has led marketing efforts at Weight Watchers Canada, Maple Leaf Foods, Canada Bread Co. and Cott Corp., a bev- erage and food service company. • Mike Gibbons, vice president of sales, spent more than 15 years with Mississauga, Ontario-based Cott Corp., an international supplier of coffee, tea and water. • New vice president of operations John Wren also joined TGOD from Cott Corp., where he spent 22 years. He was responsible for the operation of seven beverage facilities across North America, most recently serving as vice president of operations. • Andy Corcoran, regional sales manager for Ontario and Western Canada, previously worked at Beam Global Canada, Maxxium Canada, Corby Spirit and Wine, E.&J. Gallo Winery Canada and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. British Columbia Company Hires Marketing Pro True Leaf Medicine International, a provider of cannabis health-care products for humans and pets in Vernon, British Columbia, hired Don Chisholm as chief marketing officer. Chisholm previously worked with companies such as Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Vega and Constellation Brands. Former Mettrum Grow Expert Joins Ontario Cultivation Business Aleafia Health, a cannabis cultiva- tion business in Concord, Ontario, hired Lucas Escott as a horticulture expert. Escott was one of the original founders of Mettrum, which has since been acquired by Canopy Growth.
