make the move, GreenGro has struck an agreement with KGBI Colorado , a retailer and cultivator of medical marijuana, to build and operate a state-of-the-art MMJ breeding and cloning laboratory in Denver. Digipath Paves Way to California Digipath , an independent cannabis testing labora- tory, has entered into a joint venture with Don Ashley, a real estate developer and MJ entrepreneur, to establish and operate a testing lab in California. The joint venture, Humboldt Botanical , will conduct business under the name Digipath Botanical Testing . Under the agreement, Ashley will contribute up to $2 million to fund the build-out and equip the lab, while Digipath will be responsible for managing and supervis- ing the facility’s day-to-day operations. Digipath has also been granted a nonexclusive, royalty-free right to use all cannabis data generated by the joint venture, adding to its portfolio of cannabis testing data and related intellec- tual property. Canada Developments Canopy’s International Trifecta Canopy Growth , Canada’s largest MMJ company, has been busy interna- tionally with deals in Spain, Denmark and Australia. The Ontario-based company will supply medical marijuana seeds to the Spanish pharmaceutical com- pany Alcaliber , which will grow and distribute cannabis. Canopy also formed a joint venture with Danish Can- nabis ApS , to be called Spectrum Denmark . The Danish medical marijuana market is set to launch Jan. 1. In addition, Canopy signed a deal to be the exclusive supplier of medical marijuana for Australia’s AusCann Group Holdings . Under the pact, Canopy agreed to take a 15% ownership stake in the Perth-based company, which is a cultivator, manufacturer and supplier of Australian- produced MMJ. Bruce Linton, Canopy Growth
