California-based Steep Hill Labs, a prominent cannabis testing lab, has announced plans to expand operations to Mexico and six western European markets, further broadening the company’s global footprint.

This is yet another example of a company using its Canadian presence to springboard into the growing international cannabis market.

According to a news release, the licensee for Steep Hill Canada will expand its testing umbrella to the following countries:

  • Mexico
  • Germany
  • Spain
  • France
  • Italy
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom

The company plans to provide testing services to cultivators, producers, processors and retailers, as well as develop science and technology in these emerging international markets.

Jmîchaele Keller, CEO and chairman of the board for Steep Hill, said the company hopes to facilitate the drafting of cannabis regulations as unregulated countries come online to help regulators avoid making the same mistakes other markets have made in the past.

Steep Hill already has testing operations in multiple states across the United States, from California to Maryland.
